Best Office Snacks No Matter What Kind of Mood You’re In

Are you feeling down today? Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered with some office snack ideas that will help you power through your day, no matter what kind of mood you’re in. Check out our guide to the best snacks for different scenarios:

Cranky or Frustrated

If you’re feeling cranky, grab some meat jerky or hard-boiled eggs for a boost of protein. Lay off the caffeine until you’ve had some leafy greens or whole grains to balance yourself out. There’s also something extremely satisfying about biting into some crunchy chips.

Sad or Anxious

If you’re feeling sad, indulge in some dark chocolate or a few pieces of candy. In fact, eating sour candy may alleviate some of the symptoms of stress. According to Toya Roberson-Moore, MD:

“Sour candy shifts our attention quickly to the sense of taste, intensely, which in turn dampens our amygdala (the feeling part of the brain) and gives us better access to our frontal cerebral cortex (the thinking part of our brain).”

Just make sure to practice portion control and eat some healthy snacks too. You can also chat with a colleague or take a short walk to boost your mood.

If you’re feeling anxious, reach for some kale chips, almonds, or avocado to get some anxiety-reducing nutrients like folate and magnesium. Hummus and nut mixes also contain healthy fats that fuel your brain all day long.

Under The Weather

And if you’re feeling sick or have allergies, fight off your cold or cough with some tea, turmeric, onions, garlic, and ginger. These ingredients will not only help you feel better physically, but they’ll also give you the mental boost you need to tackle the day ahead. Omega-3 fatty acids from salmon are also great, but we can’t guarantee how your coworkers will treat you after eating fish at work.

Happy

Share the happiness! Many snacks come in larger serving sizes that are perfect for sharing with your team. Enjoy some yummy treats, chat about your day, and before you know it, everyone is in a good mood! Remember, offering food to coworkers is a great way to build relationships and boost morale, so choose foods that everyone can enjoy!

Not sure where to find all these different kinds of snacks? We’ve got you covered with a micro market right in your breakroom. There are options for every mood, with hundreds (yes, hundreds) of options for beverages, sweet treats, salty snacks, and even satisfying meals!
